In my home country I have noticed several effects of climate change. There is a very high consumption energy to fight extreme temperature variations between summer and winter. Also the water below ground is absorbed rapidly as rainfall is scarce. As a result, the water level is decreasing very fast. There are more floods and more dry spells, endangering the lives and property of the most vulnerable members of our communities. In order to achieve short term relief from some of the effects of climate change we are consuming and exploiting more of the natural resources, which further accelerates the climate change process.

Also, the increase in our carbon and water foot prints has a multiplier effect on climate change. The effect of climate change has sensitized the policy makers as well as the general public and we have finally started to take action to halt the damaging effects of climate change.
