Bangladesh is a developing country. With the growth of the population and the increasing rate of urbanization there is an imminent threat that concerns us. In my attempt to investigate climate change and its effects up on our environment I tried to create two separate photo stories. The first one is the story of the Buriganga river and the other one focuses on the brick factories in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is the country of rivers and the life of our people are closely linked to the rivers. But the effects of climate change are creating a major environmental problem in our country. The effects of urbanization are extracting the last bit of natural resources we have. The brick factories are examples for this phenomenon. Just outside Dhaka, in Amin bazaar, there are uncountable numbers of these factories.

While we are developing our urban areas we forget the changes that are happening in the environment as a result. The effects of pollution and climate change on people and nature are unimaginable. Living within brick walls we don't fully understand the extent of the damage.

It is our responsibility to make the necessary changes and to work towards a healthier and more sustainable way of managing urban development. It is our planet and it is our home. We need to find a way to promote economic growth without endangering the environment and the climate.
