Carolina is a student of political science and economics in Bogotá, Colombia. As part of her studies, she has carried out research on the impacts of climate change in Colombia.
As a part of that research she carried out a case study about the Jepirachi Wind Farm. The objective was to analyze the consequences of the Wind Farm from a sustainable development perspective.
Her research was nominated to receive an honor prize in the Universidad Javeriana of Bogota. Carolina has worked as an intern for the United Nations Environment Programme in Brussels (Belgium), for UNICEF in Toulouse (France) and for the Delegations of the European Commission in Bogota (Colombia).
How can we reduce our impact on the environment? How can we protect human lives and rights while also protecting the Earth? The photographs I am sharing with you show that there are ways. The Jepirachi Wind Farm is a project developed in Colombia under the Kyoto Protocol's Clean Development Mechanism. The wind farm was built in 2004 and was the first of its kind in the country.
This technological approach to tackling climate change is important because it has the potential to transform our ways of producing and consuming, so ensuring environmental sustainability. The Jepirachi Wind
Farm lights a path towards sustainable development.
